Gone Forever Dancing

by John Breska

Dancing with the fairies in a field by the sea

wind blows over water and the moon smiles down at me

heather, so enticing, as its scent drifts past my nose

I can feel a bonding with the earth between my toes

Summer snowflakes sparkle in the form of fireflies

an enchanted garden starts to bloom before my eyes

colors in the moonlight have a soft and satin look

pages sweet with honey, in the poet's own guidebook

There's a magic mist that carries far beyond the land

and a silent beauty comes to take me by the hand

she pretends to kiss me and I'm drawn to her by sight

stepping very lightly through the doorway of the night

Where I go I do not know nor if I shall return

only that she loves and this is something I could learn

fair thee well old neighbors, for adventure calls my name

gone forever dancing where the fairy queen does reign
