Whistling Shade is not a non-profit, as we've never accepted grant money or other subsidies. However, we don't make money, either. We are an all-volunteer outfit, but to print two issues a year we are out about $1200, even after subscriptions and ad revenue are taken into account. So, for those with a generous pocketbook, we would be very grateful for a small contribution to help keep us afloat. The first $150 collected after an issue goes to press will go directly to the authors of the next issue ($20 per story or essay and $5 per poem). Thank you for your generosity!
